System Administrator (Linux/Solaris)
Position Description: System Administrator – Linux/Solaris, San Diego, CA,

This position is contingent on customer funding.
Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible for installation and maintenance of Linux/Solaris-based CWE operating configurations for servers and desktops and also serve as SME on engineering review boards considering all additions or changes to the operating environment
• Install and maintain the Linux/Solaris-based CWE operating configurations on all organization servers and desktops
• Troubleshoot problems that may involve applications and the network
• Provide technical support to applications and utility developers on requirements for integration into the operating environment, as well as guidance when necessary
• Maintain and update documentation on the operating systems' configuration
• Participate in review boards and design reviews for changes and additions to the standard Windows operating environment
• Maintain and update documentation on the operating systems' configuration, as well as to provide monthly reports as required.
Required Experience:
• Cyber-Security Workforce (CSWF) Level I, Level II, or higher Information Assurance Technician (IAT) certifications
• 2-3 years of industry experience with a Bachelor's, or Associate’s degree with at least 4 years of industry experience, or 6 years of industry experience with no degree
• Strong experience resolving complex system and network problems, and to configure Linux/Solaris auditing capability
• In depth knowledge of Linux/Solaris operating systems. Performing access analysis, design, load optimization, and system implementation
• Install software on servers, configure and install workstations, and to manage system configuration including network configuration
• Monitor system capacity and bottlenecks
• Demonstrated ability to effectively function in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Position Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day operational support for the physical, data link, and network layers of the RDT&E network environment. At a minimum, support includes: hardware/software installation, firmware upgrades, and enhancements to switches, routers, hubs, and bridges.
• This support will encompass integration, analysis, testing, troubleshooting of network devices and services, RDT&E layer 1/2/3 asset management, and use of enterprise network management tools to monitor and analyze network performance at the physical infrastructure and internet protocol (IP) packet level.
• Support the RDT&E network wiring infrastructure, network hubs, switches, and routers. Prototype and optimize installation and configuration of Brocade, Cisco, Juniper, and Fore/Marconi ATM equipment.
• Experience with Cryptographic equipment hardware/software installation, firmware upgrades, Cryptographic Keying Material loading, testing, and troubleshooting. Experience with TACLANE a plus.
• Should possess exemplary organizational and communication skills, and be able to manage a number of projects at one time.
• Maintain and update configuration documentation, as well as provide monthly reports as required.
Required Experience:
• Candidates should hold at least one current network industry certification, preferably Cisco’s CCNA, Foundry’s BCNE, or Juniper’s JNCIE.
